September 2025 Newsletter

Something good is on the way.

As we looked back this month on Aviation Day and commemorated the 80th and 85th anniversaries of PNE and PHL, we also shared some news about an exciting brand refresh that is coming soon!

On September 17, our new look and feel will be launched at the State of the Airport. Employee watch events are being slated in IP1 and in the Terminal offices for you to participate.

In the meantime, scan the QR code to see a video and learn more about our next chapter on our new brand intranet page. It's not just a new look - it's a new way to tell our story.

City Ethics Training

Beginning in 2025 the Board of Ethics' new training regulation requires that all existing City employees recevie ethics training every five years, in addition to their initial training upon hire. In order to have everyone in compliance, we are beginning a five-year training rollout to slowly stagger everyone's training schedule. The schedule is based on an employee's start year with the City.

Tech Tip: Master the Screenshot Shortcut

On Windows, press Windows Key + Shift + S. On a Mac, press Command + Shift + 4. Capture and share only what you need in seconds!

Explore the IT Service Catalog (proactive)

The IT Service Catalog is your one-stop shop for requesting new services, hardware, or software. It’s proactive — used when you know in advance what you need. Currently, you can submit requests for:

  • Software requests
  • IT project requests
  • Laptop requests
  • Loaner laptop requests
  • Biometric sign-up requests

More services will continue to be added, giving you a clear menu of what IT provides.

Helpdesk Portal – “Fix Something” (Reactive)

The Helpdesk Portal is where you go when something isn’t working. It’s reactive — used when an issue comes up unexpectedly and needs troubleshooting. You can quickly submit tickets, track their status, and communicate directly with the Helpdesk team — all in one place. Common examples include computer issues, software crashes, or printer problems.

Check it out here: Helpdesk Portal

What’s the Difference?

Both live in the same system, but they serve different purposes:

Service Catalog = Get Something (Proactive) → Request new services, hardware, or software.
Helpdesk = Fix Something (Reactive) → Report issues when something is broken or not working.
Remember: Catalog = new requests | Helpdesk = problem resolution.
