One of the most anticipated airport improvement projects is underway at the Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE). PNE is a general aviation reliever airport and part of the overall Philadelphia International Airport System that accommodates corporate flying, minutes away from the heart of Philadelphia. As part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades, PNE is embarking on a major renovation of its administration building—transforming every aspect of the facility into a more functional and modern workplace.

By collaborating with PHL and SEPTA, PNE’s local partnerships support sustainable, multimodal travel and reduced traffic congestion and parking demand to keep the region moving.

Going for LEED Gold

Sustainability is at the core of the PNE administration building improvement project, which is why it’s designed to achieve LEED Gold Certification. It is also the first renovation pursuing LEED certification led by the Department of Aviation. Green design efforts include solar panels, low-flow fixtures, energy-efficient LED lighting, and a cutting-edge geothermal HVAC system.
