June 2026 Newsletter

A note from the CEO's Office: Tracy Borda

It is hard to believe that I’m closing in on 100 days as interim CEO. With so much going on this spring – new flights, a new airline partner (Allegiant), plus construction and maintenance taking place everywhere … time has gone by fast!

Summer 2026 is finally here and the 250th celebration and Ring the Bell festivities are taking place throughout Philadelphia. The FIFA World Cup teams and fans will be arriving soon. Among all the preparations, special exhibits and events we have planned, we've also relaunched music in our terminals.

As a Philly native, I feel it could not be a more exciting moment for our city and airports.

It is our time to shine!

To do that, we’re encouraging all employees to volunteer in our terminals to be the welcoming face of PHL for our guests. Help create positive and memorable experiences by being there to provide assistance and greet visitors. It’s fun and a great learning experience being the eyes and ears in our terminals! Join me and sign up using the 2026 Volunteer form.

I’m so proud of all we have accomplished to be ready for this historic summer. I hope you’ll consider being a volunteer. Thank you for all that you continue to do for our airports and our guests.

Monthly Tech Tip: Restart Your Computer Regularly

  • Restarting your computer regularly helps improve performance, complete important system updates, and reduce common technical issues. While putting your computer to sleep is convenient, a full restart helps refresh system processes and clear temporary issues that build up over time.
  • Improves overall system performance
  • Helps install important updates properly
  • Reduces system freezes and slowdowns
  • Refreshes applications and network connections
  • Helps keep your device running smoothly

Quick Tip:
Try restarting your computer at least once a week, especially before leaving for the day or after system updates are installed.
A simple restart can often resolve minor issues before they become bigger problems and helps maintain more reliable work experience.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the IT Helpdesk.

The Information Security team is observing a significant rise in suspicious emails and hacking attempts targeting employee email accounts and data. To protect yourself and our airports, follow these tips:

Use the phishing alert button if you are ever in doubt about an email, attachment, weblink, meeting request, Teams call, etc.

  • Hover before you click on a weblink ... pretend your mouse is a magnifying glass and you are reading the fine print on a postage stamp to view the url
  • NEVER click on suspicious, unexpected attachments, or URLs
  • Be cautious of emails that create urgency, request credentials, or ask for unusual actions.
  • Always Be Skeptical and on high alert for every email, all the time.
