Yo, Adrian! Get your boxing gloves ready-- Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is looking for the region’s best Rocky doppelganger. The champion will be crowned following the unveiling of PHL’s Rocky statue on November 21.

“This is a fun way to celebrate the newest addition to the Airport’s permanent art collection,” said PHL Chief Strategy Officer Cassie Schmid. “Everyone loves Rocky. From the first movie through Creed, there are many versions to choose from- we’re looking for the best of the best.”

The contest will be held in PHL Terminal A-West, by gates A-15 and A-16 at 11:15 a.m. on November 21 (the unveiling of the Rocky statue will take place at the same location at 10:30 a.m.).  Judges include Kathryn Ott Lovell, President and CEO of the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation, Frank “Frankie” Oliveri, owner of Pat’s King of Steaks, and Bill Doran, superintendent of Laurel Hill Cemetery. The contest will be emceed by top Rocky impersonator Mike Kunda.

“We want contestants who embody Rocky, from the way they dress to the way they talk,” said Schmid. “Winners will receive prizes from Schomberg Studios, the Sly Stallone Shop, and the Philadelphia Visitor Center.”

First, second and third place winners will each receive a 12-inch resin replica of Schomberg’s iconic Rocky statue. Other prizes include:

• 1st Prize – Sly Stallone Shop’s official film replica Italian Stallion Robe and a $100 gift card to the Rocky Shop @ The Parkway Visitor Center.
• 2nd Prize – Sly Stallone Shop’s Mighty Micks Gym Sweatshirt and a $50 gift card to the Rocky Shop @ The Parkway Visitor Center
• 3rd Prize – An Italian Stallion Winter Hat and $25 gift card to the Rocky Shop @ The Parkway Visitor Center. 

Registration for the contest is open now through November 19 at phl.org/RockyContest. The contest is open to anyone, even those not traveling on November 21. Non-ticketed guests can use PHL’s Wingmate Pass to access the terminals. Guests can register for Wingmate Passes at phl.org/wingmate one-to-seven days before their visit to PHL. Wingmate Passes are distributed electronically the day of the PHL visit. All guests must adhere to TSA security guidelines and have REAL-ID compliant identification.
