The airline expects to serve nearly 3.5 million customers from its Philadelphia hub on more than 33,000 flights between May 17 and Sept. 3 — with 23% more seats departing from PHL compared to last year.

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania – American Airlines continues to strengthen its transatlantic network from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) with new, exciting service launching today to Nice, France (NCE). Operating on a Boeing 787, new daily service to NCE offers customers direct access to the beauty of the French Riviera and nearby Cannes just in time for a summer getaway.

The Department of Aviation is working on several critical projects at Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE) that are finished or are expected to be finished this summer. These renovations are being completed by contractor James D. Morrissey. This streamlined approach to project management suggests efficiency in coordinating multiple initiatives and maximizing resources, demonstrating a commendable commitment to timely delivery and operational effectiveness.

Every day, the more than 50 members of Philadelphia International Airport’s (PHL) Volunteer Navigators Team go above and beyond for PHL’s passengers and staff, helping with food and shopping recommendations and assisting with travel and guest experience questions or concerns. PHL’s volunteers show dedication and commitment to making Philadelphia a welcoming and better place for visitors from around the world.  

On the beautiful, slightly overcast spring morning of April 17, 20 volunteers from the Department of Aviation came together to celebrate National Garden Month with a garden cleanup project at the Boys and Girls Club of Chester (BGCC).

The Department of Aviation has been at the forefront of sustainability management, has received numerous accolades in recognition of its Diverse Business Enterprises (DBE) programs and has recruited a diverse workforce at all levels. To highlight its progress and achievements, the Department of Aviation’s Finance and Sustainability Units collaborate to produce an annual Environmental, Social and Governance Report.
