City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation employees now have an opportunity to improve, grow and thrive in various positions at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE) through the Department’s new BRIDGE program. The program, which was initiated by the airports’ Workforce Development Unit, provides current employees with information, tools and resources while also attracting new talent.

Dr. Jamaine Mungo has joined the City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Mungo, who has more than 20 years of cybersecurity experience designing, implementing, and overseeing cybersecurity programs and solutions for various organizations, was most recently a Cybersecurity Executive at Comcast Advertising.

After a third-party review of its organizational structure and a national search, the City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation, operator of Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE), has announced several new appointments to its leadership team.

The Department of Aviation’s winter preparation process begins at the end of September. The first task is making sure that the airports' FAA documents are up-to-date. Together with the training unit, Compliance Training Superintendent John Glass will go over the documents to ensure that the training guidelines and guidance sheet for the other departments are current and that any necessary changes have been made. The Training Department will then meet with snow duty personnel and go over the guidance sheet, setting priorities for the equipment used for operations and maintenance.

Parkway Corporation Ground Transportation Associate Adelaide Adade recently received the “Safe & Sound” award in Philadelphia International Airport’s (PHL) Employee Recognition Program. This award recognizes employees who protect the integrity and safety of passengers through proactive communication, exemplary teamwork, courage, and effective action.        

On November 1, 2023, Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) launched the PHL Wingmate Guest Pass Program, allowing nonticketed guests to apply for a one-day pass to access PHL’s terminals, post-security, from 4 am-10 pm. From the introduction of the Wingmate program through the end of the year, approximately 1,577 passes were approved. 

PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will partner for a Global Entry enrollment blitz at PHL on January 15-18, from 3-8 p.m. in the Terminal B/C Baggage Claim (Terminal B side, next to carousel 13).
