Find Your Way at PHL

Before heading out of the airport, all passengers can participate in a little fun. Check out our Rocky statue in Terminal A-West by gate A15, take in local art exhibits located throughout our terminals, and enjoy some authentic Philadelphia favorites at our many Founded in Philly eateries. During special events, look out for related activities, including interactive games, art exhibitions, photo ops, and viewing lounges.

Getting around the City 

Travelers needing transportation after retrieving their luggage or exiting the terminals, should note the following: 

  • Follow signs for the desired mode of transportation. 

  • Employees in red jackets are available in the baggage claim/ground transportation area for assistance.

FAQs 

CAN I MEET SOMEONE OR ESCORT THEM TO THE GATE?

Yes, beginning November 1, 2023, you may meet someone or escort them to the gate, with an approved PHL Wingmate Pass. The PHL Wingmate Pass is available for the personal use of non-ticketed guests that would like to access PHL terminals post-security. The pass permits guests to assist family and friends to their gate, greet loved ones arriving on domestic flights, and discover PHL’s extensive offerings, including 150+ restaurants, bars and shop, and award-winning arts exhibitions. Those wishing to meet someone in the terminal building without a PHL Wingmate Pass can wait in the areas just before the checkpoints or meet in the baggage claim areas. Please contact your airline if you have special circumstances regarding gate access.

Security

IS TSA PRE-CHECK AVAILABLE AT PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT?

DO I NEED TO GO THROUGH SECURITY TO REACH MY CONNECTING FLIGHT AFTER LEAVING THE CUSTOMS AREA?

Yes, you will need to go through security to reach your connecting flight after leaving the Customs area. 

HOW EARLY SHOULD I ARRIVE BEFORE MY FLIGHT?

Passengers should arrive at the Airport at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure of a domestic flight and 3 hours prior to the scheduled departure of an international flight. 

 

Getting Around

IS PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE FROM THE AIRPORT TO DOWNTOWN PHILADELPHIA?

Yes. The SEPTA Airport Regional Rail Line runs every 30 minutes between the Airport and Center City. For more information, click HERE.

WHERE ARE THE CAR RENTAL AGENCIES?

Passengers with rental car reservations should take the appropriate rental car company shuttle departing from Zone 2 outside the baggage claim area. For passengers without rental car reservations, courtesy phones for each rental car company are available in each of the baggage claim areas. For additional information, click HERE.

Accessibilities

WHAT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO TRAVEL BETWEEN TERMINAL F AND TERMINALS A-WEST, B, C AND D?

Free shuttle bus service is available at Terminal F, Gate F-14, to Gate C-16 (Terminals C,D and B) and Gate A-1 (Terminals A-East and A-West). Shuttles at C-16 and A-1 provide service to Terminal F only.

DOES THE AIRPORT HAVE PET RELIEF AREAS?

The Airport provides 7 pet relief areas ranging in size from 250 to 600 square feet. For a listing of locations, click HERE.

ARE RESTROOMS ACCESSIBLE TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES?

The Airport offers restroom facilities accessible to those with disabilities. In addition, companion care restrooms are located throughout the Airport.

ARE THERE FACILITIES AND SERVICES FOR PASSENGERS WITH DISABILITIES?

The airport has a variety of accessible services and facilities that are available to travelers with disabilities. Detailed information on services for travelers with disabilities can be found in the Accessibility section of the site.

Parking

WHAT ARE MY PARKING OPTIONS AT THE AIRPORT?

There are many parking options to choose from at PHL. Valet Parking is available on Departures Rd. Self-Parking is available in the Garages (A-East, A-West, B, C, D, E , F and the AAdvantage® Aviator™ Mastercard® parking area for hourly and long-term parking), and Short-Term parking (1 hour or less), at the Economy Parking Lot. IS THERE AN AREA WHERE I CAN WAIT IN MY CAR TO PICK UP SOMEONE AT THE AIRPORT?

Philadelphia International Airport offers a Cell Phone Waiting Lot that is easily accessible from both I-95 and Route 291 and provides free waiting on Airport property.
