Hi Team PHL and PNE,
Spring is here and things are heating up fast at the DOA with the Spring Break travel season anticipated to bring in more than one million travelers to PHL.
We’ll be ready for the influx of extra guests. At PHL, construction barricades on our restrooms are finally coming down. We opened new, three modern restroom sets in A-East baggage claim, A-West ticketing and the Terminal C hammerhead.
This month, we will open the set in Customs and by the end of July, will have eight new restrooms, ancillary spaces (Service Animal Relief Areas, lactation suites, and assisted care spaces) —all from Phase 5 of the eight-phased Restroom Renovation Program. Thank you to our engineers, consultants and contractors for their hard work and to our custodial and maintenance teams who will be supporting these new facilities.
We held the kickoff celebration for our new partnership with the Philadelphia Union. Check out the video filmed in the terminals. With back-to-back FIFA Club and World Cup championships being held in Philly, soccer will be in the travel itineraries for residents and visitors over the next two years.
Starting April 24, we will begin the next round of employee engagement roadshow meetings. Our newly formed Employee Engagement Committee is helping host these meetings. Look for dates and registration information soon.
We’re also getting ready for the launch of new flights in May and June: Edinburgh, Milan from American Airlines and Mexico City from our new international carrier - Aeromexico! We will continue our countdown to the PGA’s Truist Championship in May, and the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 matches in June.
Thank you for what you do for PHL and PNE every day.
-Atif
