At Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), the future of secure and efficient travel is already here, thanks to the successful implementation of a state-of-the-art biometric screening technology at 25 gates across Terminal A. As one of the first airports in the United States to adopt this technology mandated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), PHL has set a standard for improving security while simultaneously enhancing passenger experience.

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Transportation Security Officer (TSO) Hector Cintron-Rivera recently received the “Caring Support” award in Philadelphia International Airport's (PHL) Employee Recognition Program. This award recognizes employees who provide exceptional care and services to seniors, families with young children, disabled passengers, and others with special needs.  

PHL Airport's Airport Exhibitions Program is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Over the coming weeks, the airport will take a look back at some of the artists who have participated in the program over the last 25 years. 

City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation CEO Atif Saeed has been elected to the Board of Directors of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). The announcement was made at AAAE’s 95th Annual Conference & Exposition, held in Denver June 3-5.  

Have you ever wondered why you’re ready for take-off and your aircraft isn't leaving? The plane is ready for departure, the weather is nice, other planes are leaving, but your flight is delayed. It’s most likely due to a ground stop (GS).  

GSs are a common safety tool utilized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to control air traffic volume. The FAA Air Traffic Control System Command Center (ATCSCC) can issue a ground stop to slow or halt the flow of aircraft to a given airport.

There are more than 170 shops, restaurants, and services in the award-winning program which includes a wide variety of local, regional, and national brands.
