PHL Celebrates Launch of PHL WORKS Recap

To celebrate the people of PHL, the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) held a pep rally and award ceremony for the launch of PHL WORKS, a program to promote service excellence among its 16,800 badged employees. The program aims to bring together representatives from all operating partners to provide a unified experience for passengers. The initiative is led by the Guest Experience Stakeholder Council and will be incorporated into new hire training and provide resources for managers.

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania – Today, American Airlines launches its inaugural flight to Copenhagen, Denmark (CPH) from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). New service to Copenhagen is the final of three new transatlantic routes, including Nice, France and Naples, Italy which launched earlier this summer.

Wednesday, June 5, 2024 – Today, Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) officially launched PHL WORKS — a program to inspire service excellence among the more than 16,800 badged employees at the airport. PHL WORKS is an initiative of PHL’s Guest Experience (GX) Stakeholder Council which brings together representatives from all the operating partners at PHL including the City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation, federal agencies, airlines, merchants, service providers and other tenants.

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) recently marked a significant milestone with the grand opening of its new Airport Operations Center (AOC), the state-of-the-art facility that replaced the former Communications Center at Terminal C. The AOC is a centralized hub where a variety of duties take place, including communications, Job Control (service requests), lost and found, operations, and security, with staff working in shifts to ensure a seamless and efficient operation.
