Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) received $1M in RACP (Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program) funding for the FDR Park Wetland Mitigation Project. RACP is a Pennsylvania grant program for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects.
Frontier Announces Expansion of Non-Stop Flights From PHL
On March 9, Frontier Airlines announced the expansion of its non-stop flights from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) beginning in May 2022 The cities included in the expansion are Boston, Cincinnati and Kansas City, MO (all restored), and Chicago-Midway, Cleveland, and San Antonio (new). The additional routes will bring Frontier’s total number of non-stop destinations from PHL to 32 cities.

PHL Receives Shaw Contract Certificate of Appreciation for Sustainability & Recycling Carpet Efforts
The Philadelphia International Airport’s (PHL) sustainability and recycling carpet efforts have been recognized by Shaw Contract with a certificate of appreciation. In 2021, PHL recycled 45 tons of carpet, further expanding PHL’s long-term commitment to sustainability in collaboration with Elliot-Lewis and Shaw Contract.
PHL/PNE CEO Chellie Cameron Named Airports Council Vice Chair
Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE) CEO Chellie Cameron was named Vice Chair of the Board of Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA), the trade association representing commercial service airports in the United States and Canada. Cameron’s two-year appointment to the role began on January 1, 2022; she previously served as chair of the U.S. Policy Council for ACI-NA.

PHL staff recently participated in a virtual panel discussion with 50 students from Bartram High School for a special Black History Month Edition of the Workforce Development Unit’s Career Profile Series. The panel discussion was also part of the airport’s Southwest Initiatives for Neighborhood Growth (SWING), an effort focused on building stronger relationships with PHL’s surrounding neighborhoods through impact-driven engagement and connectivity to resources.
